When is infuse getting gingerbread

For those who might be wondering, I opted to start this infusion with rum because most rums are made from molasses. Though they are not sweet, rums often have some notes of the molasses on their nose better rums often have a lot, along with tropical fruit, caramel and vanilla notes , it makes a good base for the gingerbread. You can do this with vodka, but you might want to add in a little extra molasses to get a richer flavor.

It takes a minimum of 3 days to get a good infusion and I would recommend letting it sit for a few days longer if you have the time. After the infusion is complete, strain out the solids and transfer your rum to a new container. If you are making this for a gift, write up the cocktail recipe on a card and tie it around the neck of a bottle as part of the present! Combine all ingredients in a bottle or large mason jar pour off a few tablespoons of rum, if necessary. Shake well and set aside to infuse for days days.

Shake once a day to agitate the spices. You may be able to find more information about this and similar content on their web site. First, make a gin infusion. In a jug add your gin, ginger teabag, ginger, clove, star anise, allspice and ground ginger.

Leave to infuse for 30 minutes. Strain the aromatics and remove tea bag then store until needed. To make your gingerbread Negroni, fill half a tumbler with ice. Pour 25ml of infused gin, 25ml spiced rum and 25ml red vermouth.

Take a piece of orange rind and squeeze some of the oil on top of the cocktail, and rub the rind around the rim of the glass. Saturday and Sunday were even worse. On Monday I could barely speak anymore and we were discussing a visit to the doctor. So I drank my share of honeyed tea and ate chicken soup and was on a complete bed, well, couch rest.

It was horrible waking up every 2 hours in the night to cough, sneeze repeatedly and the like, but even worse…. So much for nice holidays. Lucky for us, by the time illness stroke, we have already baked our share of Christmas cookies, including these delicious, though a bit crooked, Gingerbread Cookies, to keep us company in our miserable times.

Today is the first day that I am feeling a bit better and on the road to recovery and this is also the last Christmas recipe for this year. Like this recipe?
